Women's Gothic Winter Coats

Now that the weather is bitterly cold and wet it's time to pick a Winter coat to be your new best friend to keep you snug until spring appears, we have a great selection of coats to choose from at The Gothic Shop.

As shown in the image above from left to right, the Lilianne is an elegant velvet fishtail coat that has lots of mysterious character to transform any outfit in seconds. This exquisite Sinister creation forms a gorgeous silhouette with flared sleeves, brocade trimming and frog fastenings.

In luxurious black velvet, we simply can't resist this Crazy Doll coat, as you wrap yourself up in style with layers, princess seams, black lace and large buttons.

You are going to find every excuse you can to head outside in this Angeline Black Coat, featuring a high faux-fur collar and black crocheted lace frill and bow, plus cuffs trimmed with fur.  The shape is extremely flattering, tailored in at the waist with a slight flare to the knee which works with any shape.

We love a dynamic statement coat, and this woollen Military coat is both feminine and chic. A style to see you through many seasons.

Finally, you will look super cute in the Sarah Jane hooded coat, with faux fur collar, hem and cuffs, fluffy pompoms and adjustable ribbon lacing detail at the back to give you the perfect fit.  It definitely is one of our Hell Bunny favourites.

It's Halloween time

With October 31 only a few days away, Halloween preparations must be well underway, be it planning a get together, choosing your outfit, creating inspired cakes and food or just doing some pumpkin carving.

All Hallows' Eve also known as Halloween has traditionally included activities such as trick-or-treating, bonfires, dressing up in costumes and carving jack-o-lanterns from pumpkins.

Records indicate we began to celebrate this holiday in the nineteenth century, stemming from the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain where the ancient pagans would prepare for the winter, gathering supplies followed by a celebration at the end of the harvest season.

Our ancestors believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and wreck havoc in the living world, so masks and costumes were worn in an attempt to mimic the evil spirits or appease them.

So if you looking for a way to embrace this evolving tradition then take a look at these inspiring collections of facial masks, costumes and delicious Halloween inspired treats.

We have just brought in some intricate Venetian Metal face masks to add to your Goth collection:

Or if its clothing you are after we have selected a few favourites to create Vampire, Witches or Skeletons for Halloween and Day of the Dead celebrations:

Top shoes at the Gothic shop

Getting the shoes right is all important when planning ones outfit- that's a given. But finding the right darkly decadent Gothic shoe is not always an easy task. The traditional black shoe can come practically in any guise: from the humble black court shoe with kitten heel to the dangerously razor sharp heeled pair. Then there is everything inbetween! The right pair of shoe in terms of Gothic can be about the finer details on the shoe. The small but effective aspects that will make your shoes stand out and be noticed. There is never a better time to pick out that truly awesome pair of shoes! Here are just a few that are more than worth considering at The Gothic Shop:

Isabella D' Este Black Suede Gothic Shoes by Hades

A stunning example of a shoe design is the Isabella D' Este Black Suede shoe by Hades. Suede had a delicate as well as elegant feel about it, there's nothing like the velvet feel against ones fingertips. It is luxurious in nature. So no decadent shoe would be complete without this soft textured surface. Studs are scattered about the front toe of the shoe along with a subtle trim along the edge. But just take a look at the gorgeous jewelled heel! Not only is the shape an very eloquent one but it is also made up of a series of cut out metal links to make it precious. But that's not all: The ankle is secured with a laced up suede cuff, this shoe is truly that Victorian Gothic style at it's best!

Black Crow Gothic shoes with Spinal heels by Hades
The high shine finish on these shoes make them unique. The patent leather of the shoe is combined with the chrome finish of the heel and sole of the shoe. The design of which is a one off! A moulding that you will simply not find on any other pair of shoes. The shoe is kept firmly in place with a sturdy 'X' ankle strap so your shoes can literally be put through their paces each and every day! Everything from the eyelets to the flames on the buckle bring details to this shoe. Note that there is also extended back support at the top of the heel too.

Triton Black Gothic shoes with spine heel by Hades
For a tough Gothic style, look no further than the Triton shoe from Hades. At first glance everything about this shoe is dangerous but in the best most stylish way! The gun metal grey of the out sole and the 5 inch heel make this even more so. But again like in the Isabella D' Este design, this shoe is all about the fine detailing. The slim heel boasts an alluring spine-like metallic design. Then there are the filigree patterns on the buckle of the ankle strap. Most of all the platform part of the shoe has a series of bullet-like spikes that make this design stand tall! It's sleek and very sexy- a must have for any wardrobe!

Cosy cardigans at The Gothic Shop

Halloween season is creeping up upon us as we speak! The days are getting darker and the cold is setting in. This might sound like the opening lines to a spooky story but it is in fact true. This is our favourite time of year, mostly because we can start to pull out all those stylish bits of knitwear that have been stashed away for the summer.

What do you love about your cardigans or sweaters? Do you love them to fit you in all the right places as they keep you warm? Are you a fan of frills and the finer details on them? Here are just a selection of the decadent day and evening knitwear pieces to be found in our new arrivals!

It's no surprise as it is made from a combination of Rayon, Nylon and Spandex. Deeper block colours are just so fabulous for the darker months- The Paloma Green cardigan is the perfect way to dress up any outfit! This design is available in a sharp pillar box red and a sultry black too.

Vampire and Bats cardigan by Hell Bunny

Sticking with the theme of 'figure flattering' and we have the Vampire and Bats cardigan from Hell Bunny. You just can't get sleeker than this, all black with some chic motifs added for good measure. Like above this cardigan too is made from a variety of comfortable and flattering fabrics. But with this top it's the sweet but scary details that count. Take a peek at the bats on the sleeves as well as the vampiress applique design that's set right over your heart! All this is finished off with the cute shiny crimson red buttons that could be droplets of blood!

Doomed Green Skeleton Hand Cardigan by Hell Bunny
He's behind you! Even if you are too scared to look round no doubt there will be plenty of admirers giving you a second glace in this sexy little number! The darkest black is highlighted with bright green buttons at the front. It's 'less is more' with this design, two distinctively skeletal hands grab your shoulders tightly! Take a look at the sleeves too, and in true Hell Bunny style we see the cutest winged eyeball motifs. The only way to wrap up this winter if zombie green and creepy cool is your thing!

Cats and Bats at The Gothic Shop

There is something so fabulous about these little wild creatures. Both bats and cats can be found wandering the streets and forests at night. You can find bats nesting in woodlands, while those slinky black kitties are out on the prowl. In the past both of these creatures have had a really bad press- mainly being related to witchcraft as well as Nosferatu. Not forgetting the whole Ozzy Osbourne thing with the bat head!

But we love bats and cats!  They are actually some of the cutest creatures around. We love them so much that we have some great lines of clothing and accessories dedicated solely to these little beasties. Where would we be without our cats and bats at The Gothic Shop?  Here are some of our pieces that your furry dark animal friends will love!

Bat Cat Ladies top with mesh gloves
This top with gloves is absolutely perfect for the coming autumn. You still have the lightness of the t-shirt as well as a mesh covering as sleeves for all those cool fall evenings. Then there is of course that amazing cat bat motif against the moonlight. Deep and dark but also sumptuously cute too!

Black cats and moonlight just look lovely together, both are mystical and have an elegance about them that work well. Amalgamate your Gothic with a super practical item of clothing. The long sleeves make this top a great one for the autumn time. The low neck means that it is an ultra flattering one too! This lovely blue eyed kitty with it's flying bats and moon will be an awesome addition to your wardrobe.

You can make your bat style an elegant one with this scintillating hair clip by Restyle. It's silver tone colour is simple and stylish to do, it's set off with a bright red glass stone. Each of the facets on the blood red stone make the piece a glimmering one. The piece looks amazing with long hair, even for those with shorter locks, pin your hairpiece to a bun or even to a lapel of a coat.

What better statement piece to be wearing this spooky season than a stretched out bat pendant? This highly detailed piece is the perfect necklace for the autumn. One really gets to see the true beauty of this night creature in it's full glory! The design is canny too as it sits in the most flattering place in the decolletage. It looks amazing with black but the silver colour will make it one that will work with almost every outfit in your wardrobe!

Jet Girl Batty Peepers eyeball bat dress by Sourpuss
What could be better than bats on a dress? Bats on a dress with eyeballs! Freakishly glamorous, this dress fits the figure beautifully. With an empire line waist and sexy neckline, this strappy dress is a must have for the coming season! The eyes are among the first things that one notices when meeting someone for the very first time. Although it might seem cliche to say that they are 'the windows to the soul' they really are. How would you like your soul to be portrayed? As well as prettying them up with make up why not try some alternative contact lenses? And we are not talking about the subtle hints designs that just add to your natural eye colour. Step out with robotic, wolf or serpent eyes for a deliciously decadent twist to your overall look.

Contact lenses make the best finishing touches for any style especially the designs at The Gothic Shop. Here are just a few from the fabulous collection!

Blackout Contact Lenses by Xtreme Eyez
There is something so titillatingly scary about not being able to see all the parts of an eye. The iris and the pupil for example are things that we instantly recognise when speaking to someone no matter how dark their natural colour eyes may be. But what if you can't see these? The darkest of eyes could hide a very dark soul indeed. What of the intentions of this dark eyed person? No one knows and that's the best bit! Freak out your nearest and dearest with a pair of blackout contact lenses from The Gothic Shop.

Robot Eye 3M Contact Lenses by Xtreme Eyez
A change from the sexy animal eyes are these Robot Eye 3M lenses. Each of the pair has the tiniest mechanical detail down to an art. Like the tiny stainless steel plates and laser dotted lights. The central red of these can be seen a mile off. Like the other contact lenses at The Gothic Shop these will make a style statement like no other. Wear alone or with dark eye liner to really bring your robotic lenses to life.

Voldermort 3M Contact Lenses by Xtreme Eyez
These inspired contact lens design cover a whole range of characters. From 'He who must not be named' in the Harry Potter movies right to the Twilight films. Think Bella and Edward's deep amber vampire eyes. These striking red eyes will get you noticed where ever you decide to wear them.

Wolf Contact Lenses by Xtreme Eyez
Sticking with the Twilight theme take a look at these wolfish eyes. Show your love for all things Jacob with these striking yellow lenses. They will ensure that you are spotted a mile away! Deep dark pupils are enlarged and ready to pounce. For people who are a fan of wolves and all things natural and unnatural these are the contact lenses for you.

No matter how dark your natural eye colour is, all of the contact lenses at The Gothic Shop are made to fit everyone. Dark eyes will not effect the vibrancy of any of these lenses, you are sure to make an impact with your eyes.

Maria Amanda and the Sinister Gothic Wedding Dress

We were absolutely delighted when last weekend Maria Amanda in Denmark contacted us to say that she was planning an impromptu trip to London this week and could she visit our photographer to model for us!  Of course our immediate answer was YES and we started to plan what she would wear, including the Sinister wedding dress.  We will be adding the beautiful photographs from Nils Bratby of Immortaleye Photography to this blog as we receive them...... so be sure to bookmark this page and check back regularly :)

Maria wore the Gothic Wedding Dress by Sinister with veil, hooped petticoat skirt with train and a stunning Sinistre choker by Dark Elegance Designs.  The choker isn't in stock yet as it is a brand new design, but it is similar to the Lucretia choker.

Goth Guys Summer Gear

What’s this ball of fire we see? Rays beaming through the windows? We were surprised we didn't burn up into ashes when it touched our skin!  With summer finally making an appearance, we feel it’s time to plan what we should be wearing out and about this season.

For a Goth guy, it can be tricky to dress for the season,  black is our wardrobe staple mainly because it goes with everything and represents traditional goth style.  Black is also very versatile so will never let you down as you can easily mix and match with any item in your existing wardrobe.

We have selected a few outfits for alternate inspiration:

It’s summer, so lighten up!  Check out this fitted Air Guitar t-shirt by Spiral Direct which would look awesome with a pair Black Convertible Trousers Shorts or just a pair of regular shorts for that sweltering summer's day and sundowners on the beach.

Friends coming fetch you and you still have no idea what to wear,  try this Skull print black cotton shirt and a pair of stylish black trousers, we dig this pair detailed with a pentagram, adjustable buckle straps, chrome zips, detachable chain straps and D-rings for the perfect ensemble for a night out on the town as you don't want to get too hot sporting too many layers.

Sensational Summer Dresses at The Gothic Shop

The good weather is finally here, the perfect time to get out your stunning summer dresses. A way to keep cool during the long hot summer, we at The Gothic Shop adore our dresses! Take a look at some of the sensational dresses we have to offer this summer season:

Alvira Lace Gothic Prom Dress by Sinister

Gothic makes for a sumptuous and decadent style, there is no better example than the Alvira Lace Gothic Prom Dress created by Sinister. Made in both a black and crimson red variation, each dress has a lovely loose netting over the sleeves and skirt sections. Long drapes give the dress a real Victorian feel while a fitted corset top is ultra flattering to all shapes and sizes. The low neck make it perfect for wearing with detailed choker necklaces and chandelier earrings should you so wish. A stunning versatile dress for all of those lavish occasions.

Autumn Black Velvet and Copper Taffeta Dress by Sinister
Although the name of the dress suggests it is a 'fall' dress, there is no better time than to wear this stunning dress by Sinister. Like the Alvira Lace dress this has an attractive corset style top, one that will flatter all frames. Another main feature of this dress is the long lush skirt, it's created from metres of taffeta fabric. This is a material that reflects the light beautifully, even more so with every move that the wearer makes.  The devil is in the details with this stylish number, just take a look at the delicate black beaded trimming. The high neck at the back is just one example of the dress's supreme tailoring. Everything just glimmers with this dress, perfect for those sultry summer evening dinner parties. But comfortable enough to be worn to a picnic at the park.

Burgundy Flocked Fishtail Dress
While floral printed dresses and stripes may be in vogue we at The Gothic Shop know that you will make your own style. Hitch up that skirt for a sassy summer style! We love this shorter version of the fishtail dress that will show off your fabulous pins. The straps and collar line give it an ultra glamorous edge along with the velvet and black lace edges. The skirt flares out for a cute hourglass fitting, wear it with a petticoat underneath for even more volume and flare!

Candy Skull Slash Sleeve Black Dress Top by Banned

Fun, flirty and funky, this slash sleeved dress doubles up as a long top. Find them on cute necklaces or even as tattoos, Candy skulls also make for some of the most attractive outfits. Flowers with those teeth and hollow eyes is creepy cool- just how we like our dresses to be! Team it up with leggings, hot pants or jeans for a brighter way to do your Gothic this season.

Whether it is a classically styled ballgown inspired outfit or a printed t-shirt look dress, The Gothic Shop  have something for everyone. Check out the online store for new additions added regularly.
