The holidays are almost here, and with them a seemingly endless stream of interesting and sometimes difficult events. From office parties, where you fly your goth flag more or less proud all the way to family events where that aunt is sure to ask you if you still didn't grow out of your "phase" yet.
It can be as stressful as it is delightful, and to help you deal with some of that sparkly chaos, we came up with a few outfit ideas to help you navigate the season jolly in both style and comfort. After all, black is the most elegant of colours.
And speaking of elegant, this gorgeous lace
dress is just made to be worn someplace semi-formal. The elaborate lace is tempered by a soft knit fabric, and just to honour the season (and because we love it so) we added some red details, the
ring, a bat wing
purse, and of course, the perfect red
lipstick.
Winter and velvet just seem to go hand in hand. Perhaps it's to do with its softness and warmth, but either way, we just can't get enough of it. In this case we went with a long
skirt and an asymmetrical
top for a slightly Avantgarde but sleek look. A statement
ring and a matching style
purse is all you need to make a grand entrance.
Speaking of velvet... It's hard to go wrong with this slightly vintage style velvet
dress. It seems to hug the figure in all the right places, and still flow elegantly down to the ankles. We went with sparkly
accessories and
eyeliner to offset the soft fabric, and added a dark
lipstick and stylized bat
earrings to get that full dark-deco look.
We also have you covered if you're looking for a sleek and sophisticated look but don't feel like wearing a skirt. These baroque pattern
trousers give you just enough of a dressed-up look while still being comfortable and practical. Pair them with a high-collar chiffon
blouse and a matte purse for that toned down sophisticated style. To give it that extra something, go with a dramatic
lipstick and some elaborate
earrings.
